What the complaint alleges
Allergan, Inc. and AbbVie Inc. sued Galderma Group AG, Galderma S.A., Galderma Laboratories, L.P., and Q-Med AB in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, alleging that Galderma's new Restylane syringe design infringes five of Allergan's design patents covering its Juvéderm syringe. The complaint alleges that after years of using a dissimilar syringe, Galderma intentionally copied the patented ornamental design of Allergan's Juvéderm syringe to free-ride on Allergan's investment and create confusion in the dermal filler market.
